Carsten Yndigegn holds a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies. He is associate professor at the University of Southern Denmark, Department of Border Region Studies. E-mail: cy@sam.sdu.dk.
He has completed research projects on social work on youth at risk, the organization of youth work in Danish municipalities, and he has for The Danish Ministry for Social Affairs written a widely used introduction to inter-disciplinary cooperation in social work on youth at risk. He has investigated young people’s expectations and attitudes to life conditions and life possibilities, and the choice of further education in the Danish–German border region. Currently he is researching young people’s migration and its influence on their personal and spatial na-tional identities.
