Recent Research
• Danish partner in the EuroNEEDS project, headed by the Max Planck Institute for International and Foreign Criminal Law and partly financed by the European Commission (2009-2010).
• Danish partner in the European study “Criminal Investigation and Prosecution of Crimes Affecting the Financial Interests of the EU – the Member States’ Dimension”, headed by the University of Luxembourg and financed by the European Commission (2010-spring 2011).
• Head of the research project “Fighting maritime piracy in the 21st century” (Department of Law, University of Southern Denmark and Centre for Military Studies, Copenhagen University).

Teaching Experience
Long experience in developing and teaching courses on different levels (bachelor, master, ph.d.) concerning Danish and foreign criminal law, international law, comparative law, the German legal system in English, German and Danish.
Guest Lecturer at Basque University, San Sebastian (Spain, April 1997), Florida State University (USA, April 1999), Vilnius University (Lithuania, April 2002), Latvian University in Riga (Latvia, September 2003 and January, November, December 2004), Petrozavodsk State University (Russia, April 2009).
Since 2006: Guest Lecturer at Institut for Menneskerettigheder (The Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR)).
May 2010: Guest Lecturer at Søværnets Officersskole (Royal Danish Naval Academy).
Since 2011: External Examinator for Hærens Officersskole (Royal Danish Army Officers Academy).
