The aim of the Institute is to become a highly technological, internationally recognized centre of excellence, where academia and industry in close collaboration develop new technologies for intelligent autonomous systems.
The Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute was established in 1997 as part of the Faculty of Science of the University of Southern Denmark. In 1999 the Institute moved into new premises donated by the A.P. Møller and Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Foundation.

23 Million DKK Granted a New Project on Chronic Diseases
A number of public and private players, including the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute, will join forces to help persons with chronic diseases.
The project named ’Innovative Solutions for Chronically Ill Persons’, has just been granted 23 million DKK by the Danish Research Council to develop solutions within the fields of cardiovascular diseases, COPD, diabetes, and muscle and bone diseases.
