Most of the research in the Finance group is theoretical and based on mathematical and statistical models of the given problems, but the research also includes empirical studies. Specifically, the Finance group conducts research within the following topics:

Teaching:
- The Finance group is teaching all undergraduate and graduate courses in Finance at the BSc programmes and MSc programmes in Economics (BSc and MSc); Mathematics and Economics (BSc and MSc); and Business Administration and Economics (BSc and MSc).
- In particular, the Finance group is responsible for the MSc profile in Finance and Economics (cand.oecon.) and also plays a central role in the MSc profile in Accounting and Finance (cand.merc.).
- The group educates PhD candidates in Finance, and it occasionally offers relevant PhD courses.
- Finally, the Finance group offers courses in Finance to the HD programme.
