While Danish culture holds few – if any – traits that are unique, the combination of traits makes up what is “Danish”. What do Danes focus on, what are they attracted to, what turns them off?
The objective of this workshop is to give insights into cross-cultural communication with a view to understanding relevant processes and using effective tools when working as a non-Dane in a Danish working environment. The workshop addresses issues of relevance for job-seeking expats.
Danish culture is biased towards substance: punctuality, efficiency, direct communication and negotiation. And yet, Danes are also shy and private. “Danishness”, politeness, respect and honesty will be elucidated in a cross-cultural context.
The form of the workshop will be highly interactive. Participants will be confronted with some dilemmas, and hands-on tools will be presented. There will be 2-4 simulated job interviews that will be subject to constructive feedback.
If YOU wish to be participate in one of the simulated job interviews, please state so when signing up for the event.
This four-hour activity will be rounded off with a number of tips and tools to be used when communicating in Denmark generally and Danish corporate culture in particular.
